Our Interim Pastor

REVEREND DAWN ADAMY

Welcome Reverend Dawn Adamy

The Reverend Dawn Adamy has been recently welcomed as the part-time Interim Pastor at Kanawha United Presbyterian Church. Dawn currently serves as pastor of Bream Memorial on a part-time basis, and she will serve Kanawha Church in a part-time capacity as well. With an interim pastor in place, effective January 1, 2025 the church can move forward with completing the necessary steps to begin the search for a permanent pastor.

A Little About Dawn!

Dawn grew up in Roanoke, VA, and graduated from the University of Virginia and Princeton Seminary. In her 20 years of ministry, she has served in many capacities: as an interim pastor, in campus ministry, as a clinical pastor at a psychiatric hospital, in prison ministry, transitional ministry, andsince 2019, as pastor at Bream Memorial. Dawn and her husband Sam have three grown children. She loves to walk, read, dance and enjoys storytelling in all forms.

Dawn will be in the office at Kanawha on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning January 2 and will also be available to schedule meetings as needed. Fridays will be her day off. She will preach at Kanawha on the first and third Sundays of every month. We will continue to invite guest ministers through pulpit supply on Sundays when Dawn is not with us.

We Invite You to Worship with Us!

We would like to welcome any and all to come worship and serve with us as we welcome a supply of visiting ministers and lay preachers each week until such time as we call a new pastor.

Everyone is welcome here!

In the fourth chapter of Ephesians we read that “…some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ…” Notice that there is no hierarchy of roles. All of us are laborers in God’s kingdom. And, each of us is called on to “build up” the person next to us. We do not grow in isolation, but in our mutual instruction to each other. What a wonderful vision we are given for ministry.

What gifts do you have? We invite you to share them at Kanawha United Presbyterian Church. Through Fellowship, prayer, discussion, and worship we seek to equip each other for ministry to the glory of our risen Lord.

May the Peace of Our Lord Jesus Christ be with you!
