Children’s Sermon Time
Sunday School: An Adult Class meets each Sunday morning currently at 9:30am in the Rugeley Library (the class does not meet in the summer months).
A Nursery for children through age 3 is designed to be a warm and nurturing atmosphere to welcome the youngest members of God’s family.
The Women’s Bible Study meets weekly on Friday at 9:30am in the Cleek Parlor at the church. This group enjoys an intensive Bible study and fellowship time. Their studies are varied and are selected by the group.
The Men’s Breakfast Group meets weekly at 8:00am at the Smoke House. Lectionary readings are discussed over breakfast.
Kids in Worship: Faith Across Generations
We have created an inclusive and loving atmosphere of intergenerational worship. Our program encourages children and families to worship together and helps teach young people the discipline of traditional Christian worship through singing to God, praying to God, and giving to God.
In late August 2018 the CE committee, in coordination with the worship committee, dedicated a children’s worship area in the front of the sanctuary where children (of all ages) are encouraged to stay in worship after the children’s sermon with provided journals, worship notes, colored pencils, a worship guide for Presbyterian traditional services, and other worship-related items (puzzles, bio cubes, spiritual games), to keep them occupied throughout the one hour service. Many of the older youth help with the younger children.
We have copies of “A Children’s Guide to Worship” (which is our program guideline).
All ages have been beautifully welcomed and encouraged to participate. Rocking chairs and gliders are being planned for the back west side of the sanctuary for parents, helpful teens or volunteers to rock and soothe young children – a separate nursery is also available (infants to age 3) for parents who wish to use that provided service.
Our worship Service is a community activity during which ALL God’s people gather as ONE to worship as a body of Christ.
